How to Play

AnchorQuest is a fast-reflex arcade game. Targets โ€” gold doubloons, treasure chests, map scrolls, anchors and ship wheels โ€” drift left to right across three horizontal tidal lanes. Your goal is to tap or click each target before it escapes off the right edge of the screen. Every successful tap adds to your score and grows your combo multiplier, which can reach up to 6ร— for a massive points boost.

Beware: dangerous Shadow Skulls and Depth Charges drift through the lanes among the valuables. Tapping a hazard will immediately break your combo chain and cost one of your three lives. Missing a legitimate target โ€” letting it drift past the edge โ€” also costs a life. You have three lives per session, so accuracy matters as much as speed.

Each depth lasts 45 seconds. As you progress through the ten depths, targets move faster and hazards appear more frequently. Survive all ten depths with your lives intact to reach the final score tally and see your rank on the leaderboard.

The Depth Surge Event

Every time you successfully tap 10 targets in a row without hitting a hazard or missing, you trigger the special Depth Surge event. The screen briefly shakes and all moving targets on the lanes freeze in place for 1.5 seconds โ€” giving you a rare moment to clear the board cleanly and maximise your combo.

More importantly, a gleaming Depth Chest โ€” worth 500 points โ€” appears in one of the three lanes during the freeze. You have only 2.2 seconds to tap it before it vanishes. Tapping the Depth Chest is one of the highest-value single actions in AnchorQuest. Missing it resets your combo multiplier to zero, so aim quickly but accurately.

You can also trigger a Depth Surge early by pressing the Space Bar when your combo is 10 or higher, at the cost of 5 combo points. This can be a smart tactical move if a lane is crowded and you want the freeze window sooner.

Scoring & Strategy Tips

Points vary by target type. Gold Doubloons award 10 points each and are the most common. Iron Anchors give 30, Map Scrolls 50, Captain's Wheels 40, and Treasure Chests 80. Coin Towers are rare bonus spawns worth 40 points, and the Depth Surge Depth Chest is worth a full 500 points. All scores are multiplied by your current combo multiplier โ€” so a 6ร— combo on a Treasure Chest yields 480 points from a single tap.

Focus on maintaining your combo streak above all else. At higher depths, consider letting a lower-value Doubloon escape rather than risk clipping a nearby Depth Charge. Hazards are easy to misread at speed; learn their visual signatures โ€” the dark skull outline and red eye sockets versus the warm amber glow of coins.

In depths 7 through 10, hazard spawn rates spike sharply. Slow your tap rhythm slightly and scan each lane before committing. Players who rush in the later depths often lose all three lives to misread hazards. Patience and pattern recognition win the vault at AnchorQuest.pro.
